Law enforcement agents and Law breakers
Law enforcement agents and law breakers

Sometimes I wonder the kind of country we are; a country where law enforcement agencies are the ones breaking the laws. Nigeria is a place where the law makers are the ones who violate the laws.
For example, I see the Federal Road Safety Corps patrol van on duty on the highway and the driver will not use the seatbelt and they are the same agency that arrests people, who do not use their seatbelts on the highway.
Another example is that policemen often drive against traffic on road with sign indicating “one way” violating the rule and they will still be the ones to arrest vehicles for violating the same rule.
Let’s take another example. Some of the patrol vans of Vehicle Inspection Officers do not have front and rear light and they will have the guts to arrest drivers and impound vehicles that are even more complete than theirs.
They arrest people who didn’t comply with the law which they who are the law executors didn’t comply with. So I will urge our law makers to comply with the law, if the leader does not break the law, the follow will also not break the law. If the leaders do the right thing they will keep their value in eyes of the citizens.
