Mixed fortunes for Spurs' Alli

Mixed fortunes for Spurs’Alli 24 Aug 2015 12:00 AM Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Dele Alli has said he is thrilled to have scored his first EPL goal in a 1-1 draw at Leicester City, but disappointed his goal was not enough to win the game for Spurs. The former MK Dons midfielder scored in the 81st minute, but Leicester drew level moments later. The Nigerian youngster was a 65th minutes substitute for Spurs and scored the opening goal of the game when he dived to head home a cross. “Thanks for all the messages! Delighted to get my first goal in the premier league 2day. frustrated we couldn’t get the win, onto the next 1,” Alli tweeted. Spurs were looking for their first win of the season having lost their opening fixture 1-0 away at Manchester United, before letting a 2-0 lead slip against Stoke last weekend as the game finished in a 2-2 draw. Alli was denied another goal in the 90th minute, when goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel parried his goal-bound shot. The 19-year-old is justifying the £5 million move to Spurs from MK Dons.
