Law Union and Rock Insurance Plc is to partner with the International Facilities Managers Association to deepen insurance penetration in Nigeria.
The Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Law Union, Mr. Jide Orimolade, stated this during a courtesy visit by the association to the company in Lagos.
He appealed to the facilities managers to support the company and the insurance industry in creating more awareness for public buildings insurance and builders, as well as occupiers’ liability insurance, which, he said, had been made compulsory by law.
Orimolade said what was paramount in facilities management in corporate organisations was the safety and security of people and assets, as well as business continuity, in the event of fire outbreak and other risks.
He said Law Union and Rock Insurance was a solid and consistent organisation that had been in the market for 63 years.
While encouraging Nigerians to embrace insurance, he said no premium was too high since insurance aimed at “providing peace of mind when an unpredictable incident occurred.”
The President, IFMA, Mr. Tunji Okesola, commended Law Union on its achievements so far and assured it of its full partnership and support.
The Chief Executive Officer, Lavender Property Companny Limited, Mr. Gbenga Obadua, conducted IFMA members on a facility tour of the premises of Law Union.
Members of the association applauded the company for its good maintenance culture and advised facilities owners in the country to ensure proper maintenance of their facilities using professional and well-trained facility managers.
