Atoona Odua of Yorubaland? 24 Aug 2015 12:00 AM This is a title being paraded by a chieftain of the People Democratic Party in Lagos. Ordinarily, it means ‘the Pathfinder’, but from all indications it is a blatant misnomer for this politician, who has not added any value to his party in his domain, not to talk of the entire Yorubaland, to go by that title. Curiously, though, he seems to take his ‘title’ so seriously that he recently took out a full-page advert in a national daily to pay homage to his benefactor, who passed on recently. We all know the reason behind these funny ‘titles’, but the point here is that, integrity demands that our Kabiyesis must be wary of attaching the name of an entire race to any title they choose to give to their friends.
